Favre, Locle, explorer's style watch with thermometer, compass, and triple register timekeeping display, 51mm, heavy 18K gold original HC, gold cuvette with inset compass, silver dial with raised gold floral detail, separate timekeeping registers for hours, minutes, and subsidiary seconds, thermometer sector to upper portion, KWKS (key not included with this lot), fully capped lever escapement, 19J, gilt mvt, s#16474 and s#11217 within case. Gross weight of assembled watch 85.6 dwt (133.1 g). A rare and eye-catching watch type.
CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, thermometer function untested, compass not functioning, fine-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, some typical small fine to micro-fine scratches, train bridge with some mild ultra-fine scratch striations presumably from a past light wiping; dial with some printing loss to signature, ample printing loss to seconds-register markings, profuse fine to micro-fine scratches within thermometer sector; excellent hands, timekeeping hands are blue, thermometer hand is plum colored; case shows medium wear, two mild dings to lower rear edge, reduced engine turning detail with full loss through shoulders; tight bow, push shows ample wear and a small area of loss to its gold cap; good glass crystal.
